St Mary the Virgin Church in Riverton.

The Riverton Museum, apparently the best one in NZ, we didn’t check to make sure.

Two lovely old buildings in Riverton.

Taken at Pearl Harbour in Manapouri, again the water is so clear that I was able to see this Brown Trout quite clearly.

manapouri18 manapouri19

The old Okawa church was moved to Pearl Harbour and became a pub!

manapouri20

I’d say we are about ten days too early to see the autumn splendour but every so often we get glimpses like these.

manapouri21 manapouri22

Lake Manapouri.

manapouri23 manapouri24 manapouri25

The native bird the Takahe was thought to be extinct until it was rediscovered in 1948 in the Fiordland National Park, the only place in the world it can be found.

manapouri26

I wasn’t game to try one!

manapouri27

The idyllic little cabin we had at Possum Lodge Motel on the edge of Lake Manapouri.
